1945 OCT           Born in Wakkanai, Hokkaido


1976 APR           Began studies under Master Chiyo Miyazaki, (Joined Sho no Kenkyu)


1984 JAN        Began studies under Master Dojo Kohara, joined Shinkasha Calligraphy Study Group


1984 FEB            Backpacking trip to China (I have travelled 13 times to China)


1985                    Founded Ichiikai Calligraphy Study Group


1999                    Received the Memorial Grand Prize at the 30th All-Hokkaido Shodo Exhibition,


appointed to Judging Committee


2008                    Received the Member’s Prize at the 60th Mainichi Shodo Exhibition, promoted


                            to Judging Committee


2011                    Received the Grand Prize at the 52nd Hokkaido Shodo Exhibition, promoted to


                            Judging Committee


2015                    Donated work in commemoration of 1,200 years since the founding of Koyasan




                            Received the Shuho Aonuma Memorial Prize at the 46th International


Exhibition of Modern Calligraphy


2017                    Shiraoi Town Board of Education, Member of Advisory Committee on Social




2019                    Received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology


Award at the 50th International Exhibition of Modern Calligraphy








1999                    Received the Shiraoi Town Cultural Encouragement Award


2008                    Received the Shiraoi Town Culture Award

* While classes are generally held 3 times per month, some classes are held twice per month.
